Tasmanian blackwood continues to grow in popularity as more players discover its musical strengths: strong projection, a warm and focused midrange, and top-end sparkle. Normally we pair blackwood back and sides with a mahogany top within our 300 Series, but for this limited edition cutaway Grand Auditorium, we’ve swapped mahogany for Lutz spruce, whose properties lend a dynamic boost to the overall acoustic output. Together, the woods find a musical sweet spot in the middle of the tonal spectrum, which gives the guitar an especially lively and engaging personality. Featured appointments include faux tortoise shell for the binding, rosette and pickguard, the return of our “Twisted Ovals” fretboard inlay scheme, and vibrant abalone-dotted bridge pins that add a pop of color against the ebony bridge. The guitar comes equipped with our clear-sounding ES2 acoustic electronics and ships in a Taylor deluxe hardshell case.
