The famous LESLIE box is a speaker that rotates inside a wooden box, with microphones fixed to the back, top and front.
The speed of the motor rotating the speaker, added to the sound propagation inside the box, create a wonderful, characteristic and famous effect for so many years.
By trying to simulate this effect electronically, the “vibe” effect was created.
Obviously, they did not successfully simulate the Leslie box.
There was a lack of space, air, speed. The famous “doppler effect“ was constructed in a different way, with LEDs and sensors capturing the light.
However, the project gave rise to one of the most famous effects for guitarists.
Jimi Hendrix immortalized this effect, creating even more personality for the effect and also differentiating the “vibe” of the Leslie box.
There are countless songs that Hendrix uses the vibe, such as Machine Gun and The Star Spangled Banner.
If used in the Chorus function, with the DEPTH high and the RATE low, it resembles Hendrix sounds, and is great for solos and a deep sound.
If used in Vibrato, with the RATE high, it becomes more bluesy, reminiscent of Cold Shot, by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Controls the modulation intensity!
MINI – TOGGLE SWITCH
Chorus: very different from traditional choruses. A modulation that sometimes gives the impression that you have a delay activated, a JIMMY HENDRIX tone more than anything!
Vibrato: as I mentioned before, you get that Steve Ray Vaugham tone with the knob at “5 o’clock”.
